Plan to Redevelop Domino Sugar Factory in Brooklyn Hits Snag: De Blasio
Rob Solano, a member of Brooklyn’s Community Board 1 and executive director of Churches United for Fair Housing, both of which supported Mr. Walentas’s plans, said he welcomed the administration’s “aggressiveness” in seeking more affordable units, but hoped it was not at the expense of the viability of the project.
“It’s a delicate balance between pushing as hard as you can and a break,” Mr. Solano said. “If we get to the point where nothing is built, or there are more delays, that’s another day without affordable housing.”
Applications are now being accepted for 58 units of high quality affordable housing at 60 Water Street in DUMBO.
CUFFH will hold the first large application workshop on February 17.
